Character Design
- Objective: The character needs to depict the brand‘s image with its focus on truck and trailer repair. It has to appeal to both professional drivers and business clients needing repair services.
- Appearance: He needs to be a likable character, perhaps an able mechanic or a technician who looks honest, experienced, and affable.
- Style: Whatever style the website is done in, it should be carried on to the mascot. Cartoonish will do great for an approachable look, whereas realistic would suit a professional image.
- Attire: The character should be dressed in typical workwear, such as the mechanic‘s uniform with overalls, gloves, and a tool belt, so people associate him with the work role.
Pose & Expression: Pose should depict action, such as the working on a truck or holding his tools, while expressions should radiate confidence, warmth, and competence. - Color Palette: The colors should harmonize with the website color scheme, so that the character does not contrast against the website layout.
- Consistency: The character must be able to be used in several parts of the website (hero image, icons, etc.) and varies only in a pose but holds consistent features.
- Responsive Design: The character illustrations must be scalable and responsive across multiple screen sizes, from a desktop to mobile.
- Digital Sketching & Modeling: Using tools like Adobe Illustrator or Procreate, draft several iterations of the character and feed back at each step to ensure it translates well for the brand.
Custom Pose Variations. Different versions of the character can be created for use in various contexts of websites, including: showing a company that embraces its users through its homepage, defined how the company works, or lead customers through processes like booking services. - Customized Costumes: Branded apparels such as the mechanic’s outfit that bears some form of logo will add strength to the brand.
Animation: Simple ones like waving, fixing a truck, or simply thumbs up will be used to facilitate interactivity - Final Implementation: The character may be used by applying CSS on the site or imported as SVG or PNG for direct use.
