Tiny Hearts Daycare Center
To construct a friendly, reliable, and resourceful site dedicated to the needs of parents searching for daycare services and keeps them up to date with their children’s daily interactions.
Client Requirements
The ‘Tiny Hearts Daycare Center’ is an established daycare center that called us in with an objective of building a comprehensive website for their daycare services. The key requirements outlined by the client included:
- User Friendly Design: The website needed a clean and simple structure so that parents could use it with ease and locate relevant information regarding the daycare within reach, for example, admission policy, daily routines, and health safeguarding measures.
- Online Registration and Waiting: List The client wanted to enhance the ease of the admission procedure by making available an online registration form for parents to use and apply for a slot into the daycare and also scout for the child’s status on a waiting list.
- Daily Update for Parents: A safe mechanism for complementing the parents with information regarding their child’s involvement and activities within the daycare including mealtimes, playtime, and events organization. This functionality was very effective in promoting confidence and openness to the parents.
- Mobile Compatibility: The site also had to be mobile friendly fully as it was anticipated that most parents would visit the site on their mobile or tablet devices.
- FAQ Section: The client wanted to include a detailed FAQ section that should answer most of the questions parents may have concerning daycare’s policies, rates, safety practices, etc., and daily workings.
Solutions Provided
My focus in this project was not only on delivering a suitable website but one that will raise the satisfaction of the client by including expert functionality, effectiveness, and an appealing design.
- Up To Date, Simple Yet Elegant Design: The site in question has been developed with the assumption or focus on the usability of the site. Utilizing a bright inviting scheme with lots of white in order to achieve ease of scrolling. A cleaned up arrangement ensured that vital sections such as ‘Programs,’ ‘Admissions,’ and ‘Contact Us,’ among others, were located within reach hence parents were able to get the information they were in search of quickly.
- Hassle Free Online Registration and Waiting List Management: In order to enhance efficiency in the admission process, a friendlier online registration system was developed. With the new system, parents are able to register and submit their application forms electronically without any delays and the dynamic waiting list system keeps the parents informed on the queue position of their child. Waiting list management is done in full compliance with Ontario Regulation 137/15.
- Parent Portal for Daily Updates: To ensure that the parents are up to date with the day to day activities of their children, a parent portal was designed. Parents can access this feature of the project and get activities concerning the children, their pictures and other important details assuring them that the children are safe and what they are doing.
- Mobile Responsive Design: Since it was anticipated that parents would visit the website rather frequently using their mobile phones, we ensured that the design was responsive. There are also no difficulties concerning legibility of text as well as navigation of the website either with the smartphone, tablet or desktop; the user experience is uniform across the boards.
- Informative FAQ Section: To this end, we also visited other daycare’s websites and came up with a well-structured FAQ section which included information such as costs, daily routine, safety measures in place and the daycare’s philosophy on education.
